Hobby
You are being warned. This is about to get very nerdy.
So I decided that I needed a hobby. Well, it was decided for me that I needed a hobby. My husband plays video games. A lot. And he gets annoyed with my bored sighs constantly. So he decided that I should have a hobby. I agree, because I hate being bored. So I looked at my options. I can already knit, and it’s not fun. I could do puzzles, but I am not 74 years old. I can’t really draw or paint or sculpt. I could (and do…often) read, but I go through books so quickly that they don’t last long enough. So what is left to do? Well, I like to build stuff. I like cars. Do any of you see where this is going?

Yes. Model cars! This is so awesome! For me anyway. This way, I can build super awesome cars, ones that I can’t actually afford to buy. And paint them whatever color I want. And it takes forever, so I will not finish it quickly. And when I am done, I will have a tiny, awesome car. And one day, when I have an office, I can put them on display, like my friend Timm. I decided to start out with a 1970 Boss Mustang. Which is a fantastic car. Almost as cool as the 1969 Mustang Mach-1…but hey, they didn’t have one of those.
I will show you a picture when it is done. It will be awhile. I am still figuring out how to do this whole thing. Any of you like to build these tiny cars? No? No tips for me at all? Well, what is your hobby then?
P.S. I am so excited about this. If you make fun of me, I may glare at you.

I didn’t know they still made model cars. Where did you get that from?
I used to build model airplanes and hang them from the ceiling.
Bullet holes can be made with a magnifying glass.

I love you. This is awesomer than awesome.
My hobbies = reading (until my eyes want to bleed), writing, guitar/piano, and laughing at your hilarity.
I’m really glad I’m friends with you and Kyle. You guys rule. Srsly.
You should build the Astin Martin you want, and give me what you build so that when I make my first million dollars off of my bestselling novel, I’ll buy that exact car for you to drive. Don’t worry–it’ll be full-sized, not the model.

Michael- I got it at HobbyTown. I am very embarassed to admit that I went into HobbyTown.
Timm- We shall indeed compare notes. Except I don’t have any notes. Maybe you should just be my model car mentor.
Lynz (aka, foxcraft)- I will take an Aston Martin DB5. Any year. Also, an Aston Martin Vanquish V12. Also, you are awesome.
Tab- They really are fun, aren’t they?!
To all of you…I am not sure how you did these as children. There are tiny, tiny parts that need to be painted various colors and glued in exactly the right places with glue you could probably get stoned off of. And then there are Exacto knives. I am very sure I could never have done this as a child. You guys are awesome.

My daughter likes to build robots. I just wish she would do it more often… The model cars are cool though. You could make one that has a robot inside then you could remote control it and stuff
